As I ponder my workout routine for the day, I thought it is only fair I should be sharing my actions, wants, fears and happiness with everyone in my realm.  I started my workout routine last year after deciding that enough is enough!

I was slowly gaining inches on the waist, being tired after going home from work everyday and craving the wrong, bad, fattening foods we all LOVE but know we shouldn’t be eating.  Come on, we all know the 3 slices of pizza loaded up and a beer (or 2) is not a total meal.  I could say I had carbs in the bread portion, vegetables for the topping, a dairy in the cheese and voila, a complete meal :)

So, going forward I want to chat with you on my ups and downs and I would like you to comment on your progress, your ups and downs so we can help each other.

Our families are counting on us to be around for a long time.  We owe it to ourselves to guarantee that happens.  We don’t know what each day holds for us, only God knows, but we can help increase our odds a little, right?

Anyway, it’s off to the gym for 35 minutes of cardio on the elliptical.  I use a heart rate monitor to send the signal to the machine and it keeps my heart rate within a certain range.  I’ll let you know how I use it and why it is so important in a future posting.

To your health and fitness, Keith

p.s. If you want to know where my plan originates, I am following the book Tom Venuto wrote.  I bought it last year and continue to learn more everyday as I progress.
